blog post 2

Did You Know? The information in this video gave us lot of facts, but that is not the most important thing it is what those facts exemplify. The video gave us lots of stats on population ,births, and intelligence worldwide. The most astonishing facts were the ones given on the technology that has developed over last ten to fifteen years.Population and births were lower than text messages daily and number of Google searches.the video also stated how people are training for jobs that do not exist yet.technology effects every aspect of our life that is personal and professional.
Vicki Davis : Harnessing your digital smart Vicki Davis has computer class in rural Georgia that is not traditional. She follows the curriculum , but she does that by the students working on projects over the internet with other students ,blogging, and having the students teach. She is doing what we all need to do as educators finding what works to keep students interested. Mrs.Davis' class makes me think of EDM310. The way you learn is very similar ,that is through projects and independent learning. We all have to become computer literate to try to keep up with technology.

Ken Robinson has some fascinating ideas on creativity. The idea that creativity is just as important knowledge in your core classes such as your math and sciences. The idea that the arts can be just as important. Learning would be enjoyable to more students if more educators had more of these ideas. Creativity used by the teachers as well as students could change the learning environment immensely.

Mr. Winkle Wakes
I found both the videos quite intriguing. The numbers in "Did you know?" were unbelievable;or someone might have thought twenty years ago.the fact is who would have thought the majority of the American population have cell phones, blackberries, etc. The technology is getting more advanced everyday. The facts I thought was amazing is that jobs are starting to be trained for that do not even exist yet and1 out of 8 couples met on the internet. The fact I find scary is how far behind we are compared to other countries.I think alot of us could relate to MR.Winkle in "MR. Winkle Wakes."We can not pretend the technology does not exist anymore.I think the information we received from both of these videos proves that. Cecelia Gault (student from Finland)interview Sir Ken Robinson She interviews Sir Ken Robinson and he focuses on creativity .He does not believe some people are not capable of being creative. He believes that we as educators need to encourage students to be creative in all subjects not just not just specific subjects.I believe his techniques on creativity can help us in the classroom and with technology.

  1. I tend to agree with Sir Ken Robinson about creativity. I believe that no one is born with out some creativity, it just depends on how you are taught to harness it! I too found some of the facts in the Did you know video quite shocking. Especially the one that you mentioned about online couples, woah!

I also like how you compared edm 310 to Vicki Davis's class. i agree that in both areas technology is being taught to further the students' education. lucky for her class, though, they are a bit younger than we are, so they will be even more prepared to step into the new technological age!

  2. Hey Lisa,

Good post, but try to keep things organized on your page. Also, don't forget to put links and images on all of your posts.

  3. Very extensive! This should be a model post for the rest of yours. Great job!

Also, don't ever be afraid to stretch your mind and think outside of the box. I mean to say that you might try to relate what you are reading to your life even more-- and tell us about your connection to each assignment via your blogposts!

However, I would spend any time adjusting this one because it's already so thorough. Just keep that suggestion in your quiver for future posts.
