1)The Networked Student was an interesting video.I think all teachers are going to have to be ready for networked students.Technology is being taught to students so early now that many students can do more with technology than their parents. The technology is going to continue advancing especially in the classroom.I am not ready for networked students yet.The reason I feel I am not ready yet is because I have been out of school for a number of years and I am learning about technology.EDM 310 is starting the process of getting me ready for networked students.I am learning a lot about technology.I agreed with the video just because we have networked students does not mean that they do not need teachers. The job we have as educators is guide our students to use technology properly. The best example I could use is Dr. Strange for EDM310 . 2) A 7TH Graders Personal Learning Environment is very interesting from a student's perspective .I liked all the tools that were given. The one I liked the most was describing a science report and the students could skype scientists to check facts. The way the video was presented I interpreted it more about personal learning network. 3)The Machine Is Changing Us gives us a different perspective than we are used to thinking about.YouTube has become so popular. The difference is it can be isolated and part of the greater good at the same time.Authenticity does not just mean one thing when it comes to YouTube.

The resources I used were the Practical Principals,Education Podcast Network, and The Benefits Of Podcasts In The Classroom.I considered all of these sources very useful.I enjoyed the resource on benefits in the classroom the most.I had never thought about how parents could actually physically see what is going on their child's classroom.I liked the fact that if a child is sick, that child can still see what is going on and can stay home. I enjoyed the fact that the Practical Principals was audio.I used to think about a podcast as using video only.I did not think of using audio only .The main thing I liked about Education Podcast Network is interesting because you can find one on any subject.I have learned a lot since I started doing research for my podcast.I did not realize itunes could be used as an educational tool until this course.

The First teacher was Edna Sackson. She is a learning and teaching coordination in a PYP School in Australia.Iwas not sure what a pyp school was.I searched it and found it is primary years program, which is usually kindergarden through fifth grade.Mrs. Sackson writes a learning blog that was nominatedfor best educational in 2010.The first post I commented on was about focusing on learning instead of teaching. She gave several ideas like working in groups and blogging were a couple.I compared her ideas to edm310.The second post was about how teachers learn. She explained in the past it was mostly through administrators. The present is from other teachers and those teachers are responsible for alot of their own learning. The future is with more social media. The comments I made were I liked the comparison.I stated I think that twitter is a prime example of the social media for the future.

Don't Teach Your Kids This Stuff? 1)I enjoyed the blog because some of those comments about the internet being so dangerous a lot of people still believe That.I do believe the web can be dangerous but it's like anything else they require supervision.I agree with DR.Mccleod it is not saying use technology and forget about the rest. Scott Mccleod is respected in his field, which is Education technology in elementary all the way to high school. He was one the creators of Did You Know?(Shift Happens). We could learn a lot from him and I am sure we will. The i school initiative 2)The way this video was presented was done so very well.I can agree with some of the points.I mean what was said about cutbacks and textbook shortage was all true. The idea behind this is based off of iphone and itouch. We still need to educate our kids and technology is not the only way.The student that was for this does not completely understand how technology is used in education.I did enjoy the presentation even though I did not completely agree. The Lost Generation 3)I the thought the way they presented video was very innovative and creative.Time will tell which version was true. Eric Whitacre's Virtual Choir 4)The virtual choir was very interesting and unique.I really did not how much until I found out none these people had even sung together. A Vision of students today I did not relate to this video as much as the younger students because I have different responsibilities.I envy the student that works two hours a day.The gist of it is probably true . The video helped me think about my typical day.Technology can be a positive but ;we need to learn to use it at the right times . "It's Not About The Technology" THE Title of this article is not exactly what you think it is going to be about.MRS' Hines does not minimize the importance of technology. She just talks about some other things that are equally important such as creativity and problem solving.I agree with her.I believe we need to focus on the tools it takes to get the technology.A couple examples of this is you need to be proficient in math to be good at problem solving and you also need to be skilled in arts and writing to be creative. Karl Fisch : Is it OK To Be A Technologically Illiterate Teacher? I completely agree with MR. Fisch that it is unacceptable to be willingly technologically illiterate. The job we have or will have as educators is hard enough we need to use every tool we have at our disposal. The fact is we almost completely rely on technology.I know the only phone I have had for the past couple of years is my cell phone.I am not the most technology savvy person,it is a work in progress. The Social Media Count The media count is what I expected, but those numbers are reaching exponentially and they are only going to keep rising. The main goal to be a good educator is to be a life long learner. The thing is we can have as many degrees as we would like and can afford ,but we will never everything.Technology is just a tool we use to educate and learn more. There are numerous ways that technology can help us become better teachers.I have an example I was observing a math class at Daphne Middle School and the teacher received an e-mail trying to figure out how to solve an equation. The fact is can you imagine how long this would take if we did not have e-mail. The reason I mentioned this is because this could have been done on Twitter or Facebook or numerous other ways.
