blog post #7

vRandy Pausch I was really dreading watching an hour long video like some other students, that changed as soon as I started watching it .I realized this was not the first time I have seen Randy Pausch speak.I saw his wife speak on the Oprah Winfree ,that episode they showed exerpts of him speaking at graduation. He embodies the word motivational. I agree with Randy that you cannot give up on your dreams. The thing I liked was he referred to the brick wall, that force that tries to stop us from achieving our dreams. We are or will be educators,so we have to believe in achieving anything.I think Randy's health situation proves that point. I could not imagine having a family and be given death sentence. He is truly inspirational,as far as his attitude.I don't know that I cold have that positive attitude if I were in the same position.I understand that he would rather focus on quality time. The problem is as we grow up we learn to forget about our dreams. I liked all the videos of his parents.I could tell they were probably wonderful people to raise such an amazing man.One thing I noticed was how many hits were on his video compared to other videos.I know his wife and kids are so proud of everything he accomplished and did with such dignity. The one good thing is that his legacy will live on through his children. video

  1. Lisa,
Go back and check your posts for your grammar errors before you publish. Also, add more details about the message the video/article is telling us. It was good, but I know you know how to make it perfect!

I was really dreading watching an hour long video, but that changed as soon as I started watching it. Soon, I realized that I saw his wife speak on the Oprah Winfree Show. The episode showed exerpts of him speaking at a graduation. He embodies the word motivational.

I agree with Randy that you cannot give up on your dreams. I really liked the brick wall reference that he used to describe the force that tries to stop us from achieving our dreams. We are or will be educators,so we have to believe in achieving anything. I think Randy's health situation proves that point. I could not imagine having a family and being given death sentence. His attitude is truly inspirational. I don't know that I could have that positive attitude if I were in the same position. I understand that he would rather focus on the making his remaining time count.

The problem is as we grow up we learn to forget about our dreams. I liked all the videos of his parents. I could tell they were probably wonderful people to raise such an amazing man. One thing I noticed was how many hits were on his video compared to other videos. I know his wife and kids are so proud of everything he accomplished and did with such dignity. The one good thing is that his legacy will live on through his children and this video.

    Lisa,

I helped you make some of the grammatical changes that Amberly suggested earlier this semester. When I watch a video assignment for any of my classes, I take notes. When I go to write about it, I group my notes into sub-topics and discuss them in their own paragraphs. This strategy might help you communicate your thoughts in a more orderly and easy to follow way. Try it out! Get back to me next semester if you want me to proofread anything for you. If I can't do it, the writing center is supposed to be very helpful, and it's free!
