I enjoyed the essay by Mr.Mcclung.The best way to summarize what this essay was about focusing on students.I believe that we focus on ourselves instead of the students. The best thing about the essay was how he focused on teachers continuing learning.I believe when we are finished with our education and start teaching we will all have to adjust our way of thinking to properly educate our students

I agree. I feel that teachers also forget that they are teaching to help students and not to benefit themselves. I also agree that teachers should always be willing to learn. You summarized the article very well.
ReplyDeleteHi, Lisa!
ReplyDeleteyou make a good point when you say that teachers tend to focus on themselves and how their student's performance reflects on them. I liked how he encouraged the students to extend their learning at home. I also like the view that Mr. McClung has about test scores. To me, that isn't always the best way to truly measure the student's understanding of material.
Mr. McClung’s post is an example of the kind of reflection it takes to be a good teacher. As teachers we must constantly reflect on what we are doing, why we are doing it, and whether or not what we are doing benefits the students. I believe that as long as we do this and keep the students in the center, all of the rest of it will fall into place. SS
